City Market
Saturdays, 8am - 2pm, through December
City Market is Traverse City's newest open-air market - a showcase of Northern Michigan's self-grown products and self-created wares from growers, artists and artisans. Yes, “It’s Fresher Here”.
Planned as a hub of activity 9 months a year, City Market is conveniently located at the Railway Station, on the corner of 8th and Woodmere, next to the Traverse Area District Library, with a view of the Boardman Lake. There are over 70 available stalls. 40 stalls are positioned under the roofline canopy and offer cover from the elements to the first. City Market is perfect for showcasing bedding plants in the spring, summer fruits, vegetables and herbs, plus fresh baked goods and other sweets, cut flowers, Christmas evergreens and artifacts created and produced by local artisans.
Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-off-Old Mission Wineries

Christmas at GT Lighthouse-Northport

Festival of Trains-Heritage Center

Held at the Grand Traverse Heritage Center, a former library building surrounded by the mansions of 19th century lumber barons, the Festival celebrates model trains of every type, size and description, and has been a prized part of the community’s holiday celebration for almost 20 years. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. (Closed on Christmas Day.) Willy Wonka Jr.-Old Town Playhouse

Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the candy man comes to life in this stage adaptation of "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory," featuring songs from the film "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory." Internationally-renowned conducter Franz Anton Krager, leads the Traverse Symphony Orchestra in a program of "Candles and Fireworks."
